Our Adoption and Display of the Cancer Awareness Ribbon (continued)


The Cancer Awareness Ribbon is recognized the world-over regardless of race, color, language or culture.  The South Florida Cancer Association's mission is to promote cancer awareness, treatment and research and there could be no better symbol for us to adopt than the Awareness Ribbon.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month so for this month we have adopted the Pink Awareness Ribbon and proudly display it on our Website.  According to the date and event we will be changing the Awareness Ribbon we display on the site.  To better facilitate the understanding of the different ribbons we will be using we are including below the Dates, Awareness Ribbon Color and the Event or Activity we are working to promote .

Ribbon Color 
October  Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon  This Month we adopted the use of the Breast Cancer Awareness Ribbon in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  
November  Lung Cancer Awareness Ribbon  The Month of November is recognized as Lung Cancer Awareness Month.  The color of this Awareness Ribbon is Clear or Pearl.  
November  Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Ribbon  The Month of November is also recognized as Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.  The color of this Awareness Ribbon is Purple  
January  Cervical Cancer Awareness Ribbon The Month of January is Cervical Cancer Screening Month.  This Awareness Ribbon is Teal and White in color.   
February  February is National Cancer Prevention Month.  There is no Awareness Ribbon for this but it definitely deserves to be mentioned here.
 March  Colorectal Cancer Awareness Ribbon  March is National Colorectal Awareness Month. Dark Blue is the color of this Awareness Ribbon.  
April April is also Cancer Control Month.  This month brings Awareness to a number of Cancer-Related Events and Dates.
April 1-7  Testicular Cancer Awareness Ribbon The Month of April brings Awareness to a number of Cancer-Related Causes.  Foremost is Testicular Cancer.  the Awareness Ribbon for this is Purple.  As you have noticed, this color is used to promote the Awareness of a number of Causes.
April 3-9  This week is National Young Adult Cancer Awareness Week.
April 7  This is Cancer Fatigue Awareness Day
April 11-17  National Oral, Head and Neck Cancer Awareness Week 
April 17-23  National Minority Cancer Awareness Week 
April 28  Oncology Nurses Day 
May  Skin Cancer Awareness Ribbon  May is Melanoma/Skin Cancer Awareness MonthSkin Cancer or Melanoma is represented by the color Black but may also share the color Orange.  
May  May is also Nation Cancer Research Month.
June  Cancer Survival Awareness Ribbon  National Cancer Survivors Day is held on the First Sunday in June.  This is a World-Wide Celebration of Life that last year was celebrated in over 700 communities world-wide.  This is OUR Personal Favorite!! Lavender or Purple is the color of the Cancer Survivors Awareness Ribbon and our Eddie wears it with Pride.
June 12-18  Sarcoma Cancer Awareness Ribbon  This is Sarcoma Awareness Week.  The Sarcoma Cancer Awareness Ribbon is Yellow.  
September  Ovarian Cancer Awareness Ribbon  September is the month for Ovarian Cancer Awareness.  The color of the Awareness Ribbon for Ovarian Cancer is Teal.  
September  Prostate Cancer Awareness Ribbon September is also Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.  The Awareness Ribbon for Prostate Cancer is Light Blue  
September  Leukemia Cancer Awareness Ribbon Leukemia and Lymphoma Awareness are also recognized during the month of September.  Leukemia is represented by an Orange Awareness Ribbon.

Lymphoma Awareness is represented by a Green Awareness Ribbon.
September  Lymphoma Cancer Awareness Ribbon 
September  Childhood Cancer Awareness Ribbon  Finally, at least for now, September is Childhood Cancer Awareness  Month.  The color of this Awareness Ribbon is Gold.
